Conduct of All India Law Entrance Test - 2022

  • All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) for admission to the B.A.LL.B. (Hons)/LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes at the National Law University, Delhi will be conducted on the Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 10.00 AM to 11:30 AM.

Entrance Test (AILET) Scheme:

The modified syllabus of AILET 2022 for Ph.D. Programme is as follows:
  • The AILET 2022 for Ph. D programme will have two (2) sections. The examination will be for 90 minutes.
  • Section A: 50 multiple-choice questions (50 marks) to test legal knowledge and legal reasoning drawn from different areas of law. (50 questions: 50 marks)
  • Section B: Candidates have to answer one question (50 marks) out of the three options given in Section B. Section B question will require candidates to develop a research design in response to thegiven factual scenario. The evaluation of this part will particularly take into consideration the quality, feasibility and innovativeness of research questions and research methodology suggested by the candidate (1 question; 50 marks)
  • All the candidates are required to appear in the Entrance Test. Only Foreign Nationals are exempted from the Entrance Test. The Foreign Nationals are also required to apply online on the same portal.
  • NEGATIVE MARKING: There will be Negative Marking in Section-A in AILET-2022. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 that means per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of one (1) Mark.
