- Where can I learn more about the PGIP - MA/LLM Degree in Insolvency?

- Where will I get admission after clearing the AIET-2026?

- Do I need to have a legal background to appear in AIET-2026 to gain admission to the PGIP - MA/LLM Degree in Insolvency?
The PGIP-MA/LLM Degree in Insolvency is the first of its kind, which is open to people from legal as well as non-legal backgrounds. Students shall be granted admission who have completed professional courses such as Company Secretary, Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy or Law or Bachelor’s in Technology or Bachelor’s Engineering or a Post-Graduate degree with Majors in Economics, Finance, Commerce, Management or Insolvency with aggregate 50% marks.
- Am I eligible for the PGIP - MA/LLM Degree in Insolvency?
Candidates are eligible if they have completed:
- Company Secretary / Chartered Accountancy / Cost Accountancy / Law, or
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology or Engineering, or
- A Postgraduate degree with a major in Economics, Finance, Commerce, Management, or Insolvency
with 50% aggregate marks.
Disclaimer: Eligibility for the Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree requires completion of an LL.B. degree. All other eligible candidates will be awarded the Master of Arts (MA) degree.
- Can I still apply if I am awaiting the results of the qualifying examination?
Yes. Candidates awaiting results may appear for the entrance test. However, proof of eligibility must be produced by the cut-off date notified along with the AIET result. Candidates placed in a compartment in the year of admission will be treated as ineligible.
- When will the application window open?
The application window for the All India Entrance Test (AIET) 2026 will open on 16th January 2026 and will close down on 10th April 2026.
- Where to apply?

- How will I know if I have been shortlisted?
The shortlist will be published on the official website of the University. Shortlisted candidates will also be informed via email.

- What documents have to be furnished to candidates at the time of application?
The following documents are required:
- Photograph (Max Size: 1 MB)
- Signature (Max Size: 1 MB)
- BPL certificate issued by the competent authority (if you belong to the BPL category) (Max Size: 2 MB)
- PWD Certificate (if you are claiming a reservation under the PWD Category) (Max Size: 2 MB)
- Is there an age limit to apply for the program?
Yes. The maximum age limit is 28 years as on the date of advertisement.
- What is the duration of the program?
The program shall be for the duration of 24 months, ie, 2 years. The PGIP-MA/LLM Degree in Insolvency is a 24-month program consisting of an intensive residential classroom component of 12 months and a hands-on internship component at the cutting edge of the practice for 12 months.
- What is the tuition fee for the program?

- Is this a regular programme or will classes be conducted online?
This is a full-time, regular, on-campus programme. All classes will be conducted physically at the National Law University Delhi campus.
- Which authority awards the degree and certification?
Upon successful completion:
- The PGIP Certification is issued and authorised by the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI).
- The Master of Arts (MA) / Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Insolvency is awarded by National Law University Delhi (NLUD), subject to fulfilment of academic requirements.
- What health facilities are available to students?
National Law University Delhi has an in-house dedicated medical staff. Students must procure valid insurance for the hospitalization/outpatient department (OPD) for the term of the program. Alternatively, students can avail of discounted rates, which are (CGHS)—Central Government Health Scheme at designated hospitals on the National Law University Delhi panel.

- Can I appear for UGC-NET (Law) after the PGIP-MA/LLM Degree in Insolvency?
Only candidates awarded an LL.M. degree are eligible to appear for UGC-NET (Law), subject to applicable UGC rules.
- What are the applicable regulations for NLU Delhi's PGIP-MA/LLM Degree in Insolvency?
As per the UGC: "A statutory university can award a degree specified under Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956, with the due approval of its competent councils and statutory councils, wherever required and in accordance with the Regulations notified by UGC from time to time."

- How are vacant seats converted?
●The conversion of seats reserved for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, etc,. to the General category shall be done only if no eligible candidate is available in the merit list of the concerned reserved category. However, while converting the seats, any unfilled seat(s) reserved for the ST Category will be offered to the SC Category and vice versa and only after that, the conversion of the unfilled reserved category seats to the General Category be effected.
●If the seat reserved for Persons with Disabilities remains unfilled due to the non-availability of eligible PwD candidates(s) under the respective category, the same shall be offered to the candidates of the respective category from which horizontal reservation has been provided.
- Does the programme provide placement opportunities?
Placement efforts are coordinated by the Recruitment Coordination Committee (RCC), a student-driven body. The University does not guarantee placements but facilitates professional opportunities through institutional support and industry engagement.
- Are the Group Discussion and Personal Interview mandatory, and how are they weighted?
Yes. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the All India Entrance Test (AIET) are required to participate in both the Group Discussion and the Personal Interview, which are mandatory.
The final merit list is prepared by assigning:
●85% weightage to the Written Entrance Test (AIET), and
●15% weightage to the Group Discussion and Personal Interview combined.
