General Information
- The 2-Year Post Graduate Insolvency Program (PGIP) - Master of Arts (MA) / Master of Laws (LLM) Degree in Insolvency has been launched by the National Law University Delhi (NLUD) in collaboration with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI).
Admission Process:
- All candidates seeking admission to this program must appear for the All India Entrance Test (AIET).
Program Highlights:
- This specialized 2-year degree program offers a streamlined path to becoming an Insolvency Professional (IP) under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) 2016.
- The program addresses the professional experience requirement mandated by the IBC — reducing the typical requirement of 10 or 15 years to just 2 years through this structured academic route.
- The degree is awarded by NLUD and is officially recognized by the IBBI and the PGIP certification will be awarded by the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India.
Post-Completion Benefits:
According to the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (Insolvency Professionals) Regulations of 2016 (Amended up to 18-09-2023), under Chapter III, Regulation 5:
Subject to the other provisions of these regulations, an individual shall be eligible for registration, if he
(c) has- (ii) successfully completed the [Post] Graduate Insolvency Program, as may approved by the Board;
Upon successfully completing the 2-year Post Graduate Insolvency Program (PGIP)- Master of Arts (MA) / Master of Laws (LLM) Degree in Insolvency program and passing the Limited Insolvency Examination, candidates will become eligible for registration as Insolvency Professionals without the need to accumulate the previously required 10 years of professional experience.
